The View Offices, Malahide

2HQ are appointed to provide structural engineering services for an extension to the View Offices Building in Malahide Marina, which was formerly Cruzzo Restaurant.

The project has received planning permission and is currently at detailed design stage. The main challenge is that the extension is to be positioned under the existing first bridge deck, which spans between the promenade and the main building. We have designed a structural solution which utilises the spare load capacity in the existing bridge, with the new extension suspended from steel bars fixed to the bridge deck.
